Welcome toKleineEditorial Services

I'm Walt Kleine. Thank you for visiting! I'm glad you're here.

I hope you find what you need, and will return.

I've been writing all my life--at least according to family legend, which claims that I was writing (story-telling) before I knew how to put words on paper. Seems I made up wonderfully fantastic stories about my adventures with my favorite stuffed rabbit. I don't remember the stories--wish I did--but I do remember the bunny in his declining years, minus one eye and the opposite ear, fur turned more black than gray, and still the best friend a kid ever had.

I started Kleine Editorial Services in 1985, after twenty-eight years as an award-winning, Pulitzer finalist, journalist. (Being a Pulitzer finalist is known in the family as my Almost-itzer.)

My goal in writing or editing your project is your success and satisfaction. I want anything you write or publish to effectively reach and benefit your audience.

Much more than simple writing or editing is involved when you employ a professional to help you make your book or other writing project the best it can be.

Your relationship with your editor, collaborator, or ghostwriter is crucial to your success. If you and I don't understand each other, the project is not going to happen.

I do my best to learn who you are, understand the point of view from which you're writing and the audience you plan to reach, and write or edit accordingly. A reader who knows you should recognize your voice on every page.

I'm not a marketing expert, but I cannot stress too strongly the importance of having a marketing plan in place for your project.
San Francisco literary agent Michael Larson once told me, "Books don't sell books. Marketing sells books." He's right.

I can give you general advice on marketing, but beyond that you need to work with a marketing specialist.
